Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 1

Ahhhh.....vacation.  Such a wonderful time.  No work and relaxation with family.  It was nice.  I'm ready for another one.  This one just wasn't long enough.

So we went to North Myrtle Beach the first of this month with Preacher Man's family.  We were so excited because we hadn't got to see them in a while so we were ready to get there on Friday night/Saturday morning.  We left our house around 1:00 AM.  We had the address in the GPS, our gas tank was full, and we had caffeine in tow.  I started out driving because Preacher Man needed a little nappy nap to get him ready to drive later.  It really only take a few hours to get to Myrtle Beach.  However, this time it took a little longer.  Oooppsss.  :)

Our GPS didn't take us down main highways, it took us down back road highways.  Luckily they weren't scary looking or anything but it was still a little nerve racking driving in the dead of night when there aren't many people around and you don't know where you are.

Of course I had a little too much Diet Coke while we were driving and I just had to stop somewhere.  Preacher Man kept suggesting that we just pull off to the side of the road but I refused because:  1.  It was dark.  2.  I didn't know what creepy crawly thing would be out there  3.  I could just see myself bent over and then a car round the corner and get a fun view.  4.  No thank you.

So we went on the down the road and finally saw a gas station that was open....sort of.  I guess you could say it was.  This was a strange, strange gas station.  The doors were locked and they had a drive through like window to the side of the doors where you entered.  There was a man in there and he would stand at the window.  Of course, I told him that I had to use the restroom and thankfully he let me in.  I'm still not certain if they were open or not.  He sure was a nice guy though.  Reason #500 why I don't want to drive at night anymore.

So we are getting close to Myrtle Beach...we see the "Welcome to Myrtle Beach" sign and I'm so excited.  I don't think I've ever been there before that I can remember, not unless my parents took me when I was really little.  I am so excited...I can't wait to see the beach the next day.  I can see where the ocean is along the road and I start talking to Preacher Man about all of the sea creatures in there and how they are all just swimming around out in the ocean right now.  I just think it's a crazy thought to think about sometimes.  Weird, I know.  And I think I think of those things because I love Free Willy and dolphins.  Nerd.  Yes, I know I am.  Ha!

In the meantime our fun little GPS tells us that we are so close.  By this time Preacher Man's mom calls and says "Just turn down this road and you'll be here....Oh, I think I see you!  Is that you?!"  Um no, we are in downtown Myrtle Beach.  My sweet honey put Myrtle Beach in the GPS instead of North Myrtle Beach in the address to the GPS.  Ooopsss.  We were about 20-30 minutes away from where we should be.  By this time we are starting to get delusional.  Preacher Man gets a little bit upset (just a little I tell ya...haha!) and I just laugh and start talking like the Crocodile Hunter with a British accent.  I reaallllyyyy needed to get to bed by this point.  So we go down the road for a while, run over a possum in the road (I screamed loudly in a crocodile hunter voice/British person..."You just ran over that bloody croc!")  By this time I think Preacher Man is ready to yell at me.  He didn't though...I finally got him tickled.  He started smiling again and then we finally, finally got there after what seemed like a one bazillion hour long car ride.

The next morning, I woke up to this sweet little thing saying "KK!!!"

It melted my heart.  I just love this little one.  She is too cute and so much fun to be around.

And then the boys went golfing, came back to the condo and the water festivities began....

going to the beach....

playing in the sand....

playing in the waves....

showing Addie Mae that sand is fun!!  (she really didn't like it at first, but she finally warmed up to it)

and also getting my picture made with my handsome hubby who has on his white tank top in the picture below:

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!  Bless him.  He works in landscaping.  So funny!  But the amazing thing is that in two days he was the color of his arms all over his back and belly.  Amazing how he can do that.  I love you honey!!!  :)

Here is a view from our balcony at the condo:

I thought it would be cool to do this, but then I started thinking about what would be below me if I did do it...annnnd how I really hate heights.  I then changed my mind about thinking how cool it was.

Here is the fam and a lady we met....they found a new, fun hobby on the beach....

I bet you can never guess what it is that they are doing....

You'll have to check back soon to see what they are looking/hunting for!  Quite an adventure!!!

Wishing I were back at the BEACH,

Lately....

It's been quite some time.  I know.  I haven't forgotten about my thousands of blog followers.  :)

I hope that you can forgive me for my lack of posts lately.

Things have been very busy here.
Working, still juggling only having one car, summer school starting, vacations, trips home, and just life.

It's been fun though!

We went home for Memorial Day weekend and hung out with the fams and it was just wonderful to see everyone!  It's so nice going home to those that you love the most and those that love you the most.  It gives me the warm fuzzy feeling inside!  :)

And one weekend we went here.....

It was very lovely and relaxing to be away for a long weekend.  We even got family beach pictures made!  I will do a post on the vacation soon and I'll share some of the photos once I get copies of them.

We have our first visitors staying at  Chateu J & K this weekend for the summer!  We are so pumped!  They even sent us their application to my email.  It was quite awesome!  :)  I might just have to leave chocolates on their pillow or something.  Chateu does sounds like a fancy place to stay.

We're still taking applications, so please let us know if you want to come visit!  haha!!

I promise I'll do a vacation post soon!  Check back later, alligators!

Missed you all,
