Proud Sister :)

I just had to take the time to share with you how proud of a sister I am of my two sisters!

Let me just say that they are super crafty and make super cute things.  :)

Check out this first project that my sister Jamie did.

She's a school teacher and turned her ugly burgundy chair into a vibrant piece of art.

Just call her Crafty Cathy as she says!

A total drab to fab makeover.

Isn't she awesome?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And just take a look at this next project that my sis in-law did!

Her husband is a principal and she's in charge of the Welcome Back Breakfast for the Teachers.

Look at this ADORABLE centerpiece that she did for the table:

And let me just say that it's not even all the way done and it's this stinkin' cute!

I looooove this!

I'm so proud of these ladies and I love them both so much!

I got crafty sisters,
 yes I do,
I got crafty sisters,
how about you?

Love you both, Jamie and Jennifer!  :)

July Fun

Can you believe that July has almost come and gone?

I know I can't!

I'm finally on a normal job schedule again and it's wonderful!  Finally a 9-5 job and I get to see my husband again.  :)

A lot has happened this past month!  We just had a fun visit from 8 of our sweet friends from Tennessee, I've been at my new job for an entire month now, we went home for my Preacher Man to preach, and at the end of this month we'll celebrate our two year wedding anniversary.

Here's a little glimpse into what's been going on since I've been missing in action for a few weeks.  I mean it's so exciting and all and I know that you're just anxiously awaiting the pictures below!  :)

So here is my precious hubby preaching!

Sooooo proud of him.  Hopefully the nerves will get easier on the wife the more times he does this.  (It's somewhat blurry because I snapped this picture with my phone quickly....ooopppsss)  :)

Here's my fella again playing golf on a pretty Saturday.  I drove him around for the day.  We almost had the airbags deploy once on the golf cart.  Just sayin'.

And here were the clouds in the sky that day.  They sort of reminded me of whales.  If you know me well, you're probably laughing now.

Here we are on the golf cart:

And if you've ever been to Guntersville, what golf course does this remind you of?

?????

I also got to visit my parents when we went home for my honey to preach.  My dad loaded me up with all kind of veggies from his garden to bring home and after a week they were all gone--aside from a few peppers.

Sad face.  :(

At lease I still have a freezer full of corn!  :)

This past weekend our precious friends from Tennessee came to visit us.  And you're probably wandering where they stayed at.  Well, they stayed at Chateau J & K --of course!!  We can house 8 guests at a time.  No problemo!  :)

My sweet friends brought the sweetest/bestest gift for me too:

Pioneer Woman's newest cookbook and the most adorable cake carrier I've ever seen in my life.  They know me all to well.

I am still overjoyed and stare at these two things every day.  :)

While they were here we played the game Spike Ball.

Here's the boys:

It's a pretty intense but fun game.  Let's just say that Kathleen (my name when I play games because I become a super competitive person) came out for sure!  :)

We had a lot of good laughs--that's for sure!

We also cooked out, did a little shopping, went and saw the new Batman movie, went to church, and took our friends to a greasy pizza joint.  :)  That's how we roll.

We had so much fun and it was soooooo good to stay up and chat with friends until the morning hours.  I just love them all to pieces.

Here are the girls after lunch on Sunday:

Remember, we're always taking reservations for your stay at Cheatau J & K!  :)

You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.  I. am. for. real.  :)

So that's what's been happening with me and the Preacher Man lately.

I've also got to get some pictures up from our vacation in June.  I have some good ones from it.

Hope you're having a great week.  Tomorrow is Friday and we're celebrating our anniversary this weekend.  We found a fun place to go so I'll have to share it with you soon.

Here's my last picture to leave you with:

It's my Santa ring!!!!  (and it lights up--I know you're jealous!)

Yesterday was July 25, so we had a Christmas in July party at work yesterday.

I wore a red dress with a green sweater and this ring.

I looked soooo cool in the middle of July.

It really was a fun day though!

Hope you celebrated it too!  :)

Enjoy the rest of your day and lots of love,

A FUN Saturday

I just finished my first full week in a new job out in Chapel Hill!
It was an absolute blast!  I'm really enjoying the job AND also the area of Chapel Hill (gasp!)  Even though I'm a Duke fan, Chapel Hill is a neat little area.

A few weeks before I started by job, I surprised my hubby with a fun-filled day of exploring the new area where I'll be working.

He had no idea where we were going until we got to Chapel Hill.

Our first stop of the day was here...

He had no idea that this place existed.  I think he almost peed his pants when I told him where we were going too!

As a Duke fan myself, I wasn't that excited to go, but I knew that he would absolutley love it!

And that he did.

Here are some pictures from the Museum:

When you first walk in you get to watch a video about NC Basketball...

I thought the picture above turned out so cool!

I was really glad that he wore the shirt that he wore that day.  He picked it out without even knowing where we were going.  Perfect!

Here is a big symbol with everyone's autograph on it:

the museum was pretty large...

and went high up in the sky...

and then we found his favorite:

Michael Jordan!!

Did you know that Duke wanted him to play there back in the day too?

And to think my husband could have been a Duke fan!  :(

He was pretty happy!

I loved getting to look at all of the rings in the museum too!

They also had a room with all of the fancy trophies that they have won throughout the years.  (barf!)  :)

And you could pick which year that you wanted to watch them win the NCAA tournament.  I think Preacher Man really liked this one!

And all of these trophies...

I was very impressed by the Museum.  My husband came out an even bigger NC fan and I still came out a Duke fan, but impressed by the Museum.

After our fun excursion through the Museum, we went and had lunch at Monterrey!!!!!!!!

I was so excited to find that Chapel Hill had our favorite Mexican restaurant from back home there.

It was very tasty, but the one back home still holds the trophy for Best Mexican.

After our lunch we headed on over to a food/cooking lover's dream store.  I had a friend that told me about this store so I most definitely had to check it out.  It's caled A Southern Season:

and it was AMAZING!!  Over 55,000 square feet of food, cooking supplies, restaurant, coffee shop, bakeries, you name it!  Unreal!!!

I signed us up to have A Taste of Southern Season Tour that lasts about 45 minutes that afternoon.

Here we are sitting in the waiting for the tour...

Let me just say that it was a lot of fun!  We got to taste test a bunch of different stuff....$25/lb toffee, cheese, breads, coffee, tea, and wine, but we didn't get any of that.  :)

It was all very tasty!

They were also having a huge sale in their store and I snagged this cute little cupcake nesting bowl set...

Come to find out they were measuring cups once I took them out of the ribbon!  Too cute!  I also thought they would be perfect to have an ice cream party with.  I could put different toppings in all of them and it would be soooo cute!

I just love anything cupcakes!

We also did a little shopping/goofing around in the mall as well.  You might can tell a little bit about our goofing around below:

Our little niece Addie Mae saw this picture, and she let out the biggest belly laugh when she saw this!  It was hilarious!  I think this picture is quite comical as well.  :)

We had a wonderful Saturday exploring Chapel Hill.  I'm sure there will be many more to come.

I think the next thing on our adventure list is going to a Durham Bulls Baseball Game....and to Maggiano's--an Italian Restaurant....or I'd go to the Angus Barn too.  That'd be a real treat!  :)

I'll keep you posted on our next adventure!  Until then, have a Super Saturday!  :)

A New Toy

I got a new toy this weekend that I am very excited about!

Just look:

A beautiful, red Kitchen Aid Blender!

Soooo pretty!

I've been wanting a new blender ever since my Magic Bullet Blender died on me.

And that was probably about 3 years ago.  :)

I don't have to wait any longer because I got this new toy to play with.  Whoo hoo!

Last night we made smoothies and boy were they yummy!

Ingredients that we used:

Frozen Mixed Berries (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
Frozen Fruit by Dole (I had a coupon!) that consisted of sliced strawberries, peaches, and bananas.
1 fresh banana
a couple of splashes of orange juice
a few scoops of vanilla yogurt
& a little drop of honey

Here's the mess we made below:

I blended it all up and within 20 seconds I had a delicious and healthy fruit smoothie!

And guess who else loved it just as much as I did?!?!?!

The man who doesn't eat anything green or any other fruit aside from bananas!

He liked it!!!!!

Hooorraaaayyy!!

Would you look at that smile on his face?

I felt very accomplished.  He was eating 6 different kinds of fruit, yogurt, AND orange juice!

That's an accomplishment.  Just ask his mother.   :)

I can't wait for more adventures in blending stuff up with my new toy.

Hope you have a marvelous Monday!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

Last weekend we went to go see the Carolina Mudcats play some baseball!

I'd been wanting to go to a baseball game around here for some time now and I thought I'd found a way for us to go free...believe it or not.

I had purchased a groupon for box seats at a Carolina Mudcats came for $10.  Just so happens that I had a coupon for $10 off your first purchase with groupon so I used it when I purchased the tickets which made them FREE.

Well, I forgot to read the fine print.  You can't use groupons on the weekend.  Wah, wah!  :(

So after figuring that out, my husband still talked me into going even though we wouldn't get to use our groupon.  We also took our friends, Chad and Jodi.  :)

So we all piled up in Betty (what I call our little car) and headed out to Zebulon to watch the Mudcats play ball!

And we got there late.  Because my hubby took a left instead of taking a right.  We might have gone 10 miles out of the way, but it's okay because we got there.

You better believe I gave him a hard time about turning left instead of right.  He gets to talking and doesn't realize where he is. Or at least that's what I think.  ;)  Love you, husband!

Nonetheless, we got there.  That's all that mattered.  :)

We found some seats and took in our surroundings.

We cheered on the Mudcats, saw some good plays, and watched some silly games in between innings.  And would you believe they even played Rocky Top there too?!  Jon and I were so surprised that we moved to North Carolina and they were playing a Tennessee song there.  You better believe I was singing at the top of my lungs.  And I think I was the only person there singing as well as the only person who knew to throw their arm in the part and scream whoo!  My husband loved that. :)

We also tried boiled peanuts for the first time.  Chad and Jodi LOVE them and we had never had them before so they insisted that we try them.

We gave them a whirl.  I wasn't a fan.  I thought they tasted like beans.  :)  I probably will never eat one again.
I just plan on letting this girl eat all of the boiled peanuts for me:
:)
Here is Muddy the Mudcat running the bases between innings...

And the Mudcats won!!!!!!

Even thougth I took this picture early on, they really did win.

We had a lot of fun last weekend!  A great night with great friends.

Now we'll just have to go back sometime Sunday through Thursday when I can use that Groupon!  :)

Have a Happy Week!

Homemade Super Sonic Breakfast Burritos

Have you ever had a Super Sonic Breakfast Burrito?

If not, you're missing out!  The burrito is filled with wonderful bits of sausage, egg, tater tots, cheese, tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos.  Except I get mine without the onions and tomatoes.

They are glorious!  So glorious that I'm sitting here craving one as I'm typing this.  This past weekend I had the genius idea to make homemade breakfast burritos and boy did they ever turn out delicious!

Here's what I put in Preacher Man's Burrito:

Sausage, Egg, and Cheese...because he's plain like that.

For my burrito:

Frozen hash browns that I browned in a skillet, sausage, egg, cheese, and jalapenos.  YES!

We both LOVED them and I will have to say that this will be something that we'll make again for sure!

You should try making them too!

It's super simple--just ground up or cut up your sausage in bite-size pieces, scramble an egg or two, brown up some hash browns in a pan with a little oil, throw some cheese and jalapenos on it if you're into that....and maybe even some peppers, onions, and tomatoes if you have enough people around to do that for.  That would be scrumptious!  Once you have everything done, just load it into a warm tortilla, roll it up, and stick that baby in your mouth.  Delicious!

I hope you'll find the same joy that I found in breakfast burritos.  They are a yummy change for breakfast every now and then.

Hoping you will enjoy some burritos,

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers in my life!

I am so blessed to have each of you as my mom, my nana, my mom #2, and my maw.  :)

To my own Mom:

Debbie Kay (as I like to call you when we're in public and you don't hear me yelling mom), I love you so much and am so thankful for all that you have done for me!  I'm so glad that we're as close as we are and that you're one of my BFFs!  I know that I can count on you for anything.  Thanks for always sharing with me your goofiness and for listening to me go on and on all the time.  I love you and I'm so glad that you have an awesome, new hip, AND that you're my Mom!  :)

To my Nana:

You're always so much fun to be around!  My favorite times are our talks with you sitting in the rocker and me sitting on the couch.  Thank you for always pointing me to the thing that matters most in life whenever I have a problem.  I'll always be your lifeguard and don't you forget it!  I love you!

To my 2nd Mom:

God knew what He was doing when He paired us up together for a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.  I'm so very blessed that we like each other and enjoy spending time with one another.  :)  Thank you for loving me like your own.  You'll never know how much that means to me.  I love you so much!

To Maw:  (Preacher Man's grandmother)

You're my twin.  I swear.  I think Jon and I are destined to be the Maw and Paw for the future.  :)  You know he's just like Paw and he continues to tell me that we're just alike.  Thanks for always putting a smile on my face every time I see you.  I love you!

I am so blessed to have all of the mothers that I have in my life.  I hope you've told your mother how you feel about her today too!

Happy Mother's Day to you!
