Vacation in June

I'm just a little bit late on posting about our fun vacation in June!

It was a fun one!

It was especially exciting for me because it was my last day working at my old job and all of my co-workers threw me a surprise going away party.  Even though I'll still be working for the same company, I won't be at the same place anymore.  It was so bittersweet.

Here is one of the cakes that they got for me.

I wasn't able to get another picture of the other cake because it was a huge surprise party with over 100 people in our lobby chanting my name.  It was so very sweet and it made leaving this place so very hard.

I've already gone back to visit!  Ha!  :)

So it was a going away party at my job and then it was off to vacation with Preacher Man's side of the family!

We headed out to North Myrtle Beach which is fairly close to where we live here in Wake Forest.

Would you believe that we got to the right location this time?!  Last year we went to Myrtle Beach instead of North Myrtle Beach.  Ooops.

We finally got out to the beach and had a blast.

Here's a family photo:

Please notice how white me and Preacher Man are.

I did good the first day of not getting burnt, but by the end of the week I was fried crispy and it hurt to get out in the sun.  :(  I still had fun though!  :)

Here the boys are catching sand fleas.

It just so happens to be one of their favorite things to do at the beach.

And it's quite funny to watch!  :)

Here's Nana & Jennifer:

and David & Jennifer...

and sweet, little Miss Hollywood, Addie Mae:

She's a diva!

and she is good at making new friends on the beach...it was fun to watch her interact with other little ones

we also flew a kite on the beach...

and Preacher Man and his Dad did a little body surfing too!

And it wouldn't be a beach trip without golf...

Here we have the yellow team versus the blue team.

Gotta love the blue team!  :)

They might have planned this.

We also went deep sea fishing one day.

I caught a fish too!

Check it out:

And none of us got seasick!

Thank goodness!

And the deckhands were exactly like what you think they would look like!  Ha!  :)

He was pretty excited to catch a fish!

And this is for all of you who know how much I hate crustaceans!

Love it!

And thanks to the best Dad #2 for taking us all fishing!  :)

Now who knows what movie this is from?

Freeeeee Willy!  :)

Hahaha!

And here we are at Lee's Inlet Kitchen--the most yummy place!

And the next day (the day after I got burnt pretty badly) we went back out to the beach.

And I sat under the umbrella the entire time because it hurt too bad to get in the sun.

I felt bad too because this momma was getting worked overtime!

She has skills!  :)

Gotta love the pools we make at the beach

and

the sand castles!

We also played putt-putt several times:

and ate real good food!

and played putt-putt again!

and did our uncle and aunt-ly duties for the week:

like goofing off and being silly!  :)

We also did some souvenir shopping.  I wanted to buy this for my sister--she loves Hello Kitty!

And of course we went to go get some ice cream!  Just look at that!

don't you just love this hat?

I really love these two together!  They are so fun to watch!

Can't wait for next year!

One day this picture is going to be reversed!  I think that Preacher Man's nephew is going to be bigger than him.  :)

Hahaha!

Hope you enjoyed going on vacation with us!

I know we had fun and I hope that you did too!

A Bus Driving Woman

I drive a bus!

I bet you didn't know that about me!  :)

Check it out:

I'm one seat shy of having to have a CDL license!!  :)

This is my favorite picture below:

The Calm AFTER The Storm

My drive home from work  today was a little bit longer than normal.

Like almost 2 hours long.  :/

A huge storm came about when I got almost halfway home tonight.  It was terrible!  I was on the interstate with all of my other "driver friends" and could barely see the car in front of me.

We were all driving about 30 mph with our flashers on.

When the rain got so hard that I could hardly see the flashers in front of me I decided I'd better get off the interstate.

So I got off and pulled into a gas station and sat there for about 30 minutes.

And the rain came down,

down,

down,

and it came down sideways.

It was a doozy of a storm.

It finally started to slack off and I was able to get back on the road.

The sky started lightening back up with the sun and eventually this popped up below:

An entire rainbow!

It was so beautiful in person!  These pictures don't do it justice.

(Don't worry, I took them while I was at a traffic light!)

Today when I saw this rainbow I thought about how God is so faithful and always beside me holding my hand.

He is with me during the scary, bumpy, strong storms in my life and he's also there with me through the times when life is going good.  He always sees me through the different stages of my life and for that I'm grateful.

I'm thankful that my hope is in Him and I pray that you have that hope as well!

Even though it was a tough drive home, I'm glad that God kept me safe, reminded me of His love for me, and showed me His gorgeous artwork.

Hope you have a great day!

Proud Sister :)

I just had to take the time to share with you how proud of a sister I am of my two sisters!

Let me just say that they are super crafty and make super cute things.  :)

Check out this first project that my sister Jamie did.

She's a school teacher and turned her ugly burgundy chair into a vibrant piece of art.

Just call her Crafty Cathy as she says!

A total drab to fab makeover.

Isn't she awesome?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And just take a look at this next project that my sis in-law did!

Her husband is a principal and she's in charge of the Welcome Back Breakfast for the Teachers.

Look at this ADORABLE centerpiece that she did for the table:

And let me just say that it's not even all the way done and it's this stinkin' cute!

I looooove this!

I'm so proud of these ladies and I love them both so much!

I got crafty sisters,
 yes I do,
I got crafty sisters,
how about you?

Love you both, Jamie and Jennifer!  :)

July Fun

Can you believe that July has almost come and gone?

I know I can't!

I'm finally on a normal job schedule again and it's wonderful!  Finally a 9-5 job and I get to see my husband again.  :)

A lot has happened this past month!  We just had a fun visit from 8 of our sweet friends from Tennessee, I've been at my new job for an entire month now, we went home for my Preacher Man to preach, and at the end of this month we'll celebrate our two year wedding anniversary.

Here's a little glimpse into what's been going on since I've been missing in action for a few weeks.  I mean it's so exciting and all and I know that you're just anxiously awaiting the pictures below!  :)

So here is my precious hubby preaching!

Sooooo proud of him.  Hopefully the nerves will get easier on the wife the more times he does this.  (It's somewhat blurry because I snapped this picture with my phone quickly....ooopppsss)  :)

Here's my fella again playing golf on a pretty Saturday.  I drove him around for the day.  We almost had the airbags deploy once on the golf cart.  Just sayin'.

And here were the clouds in the sky that day.  They sort of reminded me of whales.  If you know me well, you're probably laughing now.

Here we are on the golf cart:

And if you've ever been to Guntersville, what golf course does this remind you of?

?????

I also got to visit my parents when we went home for my honey to preach.  My dad loaded me up with all kind of veggies from his garden to bring home and after a week they were all gone--aside from a few peppers.

Sad face.  :(

At lease I still have a freezer full of corn!  :)

This past weekend our precious friends from Tennessee came to visit us.  And you're probably wandering where they stayed at.  Well, they stayed at Chateau J & K --of course!!  We can house 8 guests at a time.  No problemo!  :)

My sweet friends brought the sweetest/bestest gift for me too:

Pioneer Woman's newest cookbook and the most adorable cake carrier I've ever seen in my life.  They know me all to well.

I am still overjoyed and stare at these two things every day.  :)

While they were here we played the game Spike Ball.

Here's the boys:

It's a pretty intense but fun game.  Let's just say that Kathleen (my name when I play games because I become a super competitive person) came out for sure!  :)

We had a lot of good laughs--that's for sure!

We also cooked out, did a little shopping, went and saw the new Batman movie, went to church, and took our friends to a greasy pizza joint.  :)  That's how we roll.

We had so much fun and it was soooooo good to stay up and chat with friends until the morning hours.  I just love them all to pieces.

Here are the girls after lunch on Sunday:

Remember, we're always taking reservations for your stay at Cheatau J & K!  :)

You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.  I. am. for. real.  :)

So that's what's been happening with me and the Preacher Man lately.

I've also got to get some pictures up from our vacation in June.  I have some good ones from it.

Hope you're having a great week.  Tomorrow is Friday and we're celebrating our anniversary this weekend.  We found a fun place to go so I'll have to share it with you soon.

Here's my last picture to leave you with:

It's my Santa ring!!!!  (and it lights up--I know you're jealous!)

Yesterday was July 25, so we had a Christmas in July party at work yesterday.

I wore a red dress with a green sweater and this ring.

I looked soooo cool in the middle of July.

It really was a fun day though!

Hope you celebrated it too!  :)

Enjoy the rest of your day and lots of love,
The Preacher's Wife
