A Week in Pictures

I've found that I take a lot more pictures lately since I've downloaded Instagram on my phone.

It's a lot of fun and so easy to whip out your phone and make any dull picture look like a fun, bright picture, or a dated 1960s picture.  It's a fun app that I love!  If you have an iPhone, you should download it too!

I thought I would share with you my week in pictures.

It's really not that exciting.  It's actually very random.  :)

Here lately anytime I see a bug I will take a picture and send it to my husband since he's the bug man.  I took this picture and work and asked him what kind of bug it was.

Next time I see a bug at work I'm going to go make a sale for the company that he works for.  :)

I also take random pictures on my phone that I don't realize I've taken...

I found this one the other day while thumbing through my pictures.  This blurry picture makes me smile.  It's me, Maw, and Preacher Man.

Here is my latest wreath that I did for a lady at work.

She told me that she wanted a pink, orange, and yellow wreath.  And I delivered!  And she loved it thankfully!  :)

I've decided that I can get my husband to go see ANY movie with me as long as we get popcorn and a Coke Icee.  He even admitted it to me this weekend.

This makes me happy!  :)

We went to see The Hunger Games this past weekend and we both enjoyed it!

I actually read all three books before going to see it and I was excited to find that I almost...I repeat almost, liked the movie better than the book!  :)
I'm not obsessed with the books either.  It was just entertaining.

I also sent this picture to all of the women in my family:

I told you in my previous post I was going to get all of my hair chopped off.  :)

I actually didn't.  I just took the plunge and got bangs.  And no, I don't wear them like this.  I just wanted to emphasize to my Mother that I got side swept bangs.  Her response to this picture was the sweetest thing ever.  If you only knew the relationship that we have about my hair you would laugh too!  :)  Love you, Mom!

Well that's it for my week in pictures!

Hope you enjoyed the show!  Maybe next week will be more entertaining!

Wishing you a great day,

my green birchbox

I was so excited when I got my March Birchbox this month!
For those of you who don't know what a Birchbox is, I recently just found them and I am loving them so far!  :)
A Birchbox is like a magazine subscription for beauty samples.  And it's A LOT of fun so far!

Here's what I got in my March Birchbox...

This month I got a perfume sample, face-wash sample, dry-shampoo sample, nail polish, some fancy tea, and some really pretty eye shadow.

Here is that green-ish nail polish in the picture...

I wore it for St. Patty's Day at work.  :)

It was fun and it was actually pretty cute!

I figure my Mom is either loving this color or cringing at the thought of me wearing it!

I did this green nail polish post just for you!

Love you Mom!

P.S. I'm getting all of my hair chopped off on Tuesday!  :)

crafting and decorating

I was in a crafty mood this past weekend.
I made a new spring wreath and decorated a bit with some spring stuff around the house.

Even though my hubby wanted to spend all day together with each other on Saturday, I was able to talk him into letting me work on a project while we watched A LOT of basketball!  :)

We did get out of the house for a date as well!  Movies and Dinner!  We went and saw "This Means War" with Reese Witherspoon in it.  It was hilarious!  We both enjoyed the movie a lot...I was pretty surprised that the hubby liked it but he did.  We planned on going to dinner after the movie, but seeing as how the lady at the snack stand talked us into getting a large popcorn for 50 cents less than a small popcorn (because we got an Icee to go with it) we ended up just eating lots and lots of popcorn so therefore neither one of us were hungry for dinner.  I guess that's good?  :)  Popcorn for dinner?!  Oh well.

On to the craftiness...

Here's what I started with:

Fabric and a wreath frame...

and a "H" that I painted white...

and this is what I ended up with:

It turned out pretty cute even if I did make it!  I wish I would have chosen a few other colors because it turned out a little more blue than I had hoped for.  Oh well....guess this means I'll have to make another once summer rolls around!  :)

I also did a little decorating with some Easter eggs and bunny stuff that I had.  Don't laugh.  I love these little things!  :)  I know that eggs and bunnies aren't the real meaning of Easter either, but they sure do make for some cute decorations.

Check out my tree growing Easter eggs...

My hubby didn't think it was too cute and he told me that I was turning into his grandmother who decorates for everything.

I love his grandmother so I'm going to take that as a compliment.  And I do like to decorate for everything.

And it just so happens that I love those glittery eggs in the tree!  Ha!

When I was growing up my Mom would pull out her Easter tree that she had.

See below:

Once my sister and I got older she quit putting it out.  I remember going through some old stuff one day at her house and seeing it again.  It always brings back so many good memories growing up so I snatched the tree from her house and brought it to North Carolina.

My husband loves it!  :)

Again, he said it reminds him of his grandmother.

I like that.

And I'm thinking about decorating all of the trees in front of my house with the plastic eggs and putting candy in them....one of our neighbors did that when me and my sister were growing up and it was always a real treat to go get an egg from her tree.  :)

  Ahhhhhh...memories!

I'm going to be one cool grandma when I grow up.  :)  Or maybe I already am one?

I'll let you decide.  I know what I think.

Everyone have a great day and enjoy the gorgeous weather!

The BIG 2-8!

It was my honey's birthday this past Thursday and I was blessed enough to get to spend it with him!

I believe he had a pretty good birthday if you ask me.  :)

A short day of work, a round of golf, presents, breakfast for supper with some of our favorite friends, and a big cake to top the night off!

What do you think?!

When he got home from golfing I was in the process of decorating and baking his cake.

He figured out pretty quickly what kind of cake he was having...a BIG cupcake!  :)

And I even got enough candles to put 28 on there.

I'm glad that we unplugged the smoke alarm...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we're going to have to start getting the number candles soon.  :)

Here's the inside of his cake:

Filled with ice cream, topped with cool whip, and his dinosaur sprinkles....just like this cake we had last year.

I even made Jon his very own birthday card with a golf scene...and so did Chad and Jodi (well Jodi did because she drew it but the card was from both of them)!

It was quite hilarious to see just how similar the cards were and neither one us had told each other about it beforehand.

Sooo funny!

We had a good night celebrating my man's birthday and I'm so thankful for him!

Later that night we decided to check out all of this broom craziness that is flying around on Facebook...

and we found out that our broom can stand alone too!

Hahaha!!  :)

I can't wait to share with you our fun times at the Cheesecake Factory a couple of weekends ago when Preacher Man's parent's came into town.  We had the best time celebrating his birthday and their anniversary there!

Wishing you a Happy Monday,
